Well aaam, Now that you've voted, I'll let you know how it was done! It was simply backlit by the sun. That's it. I ran it through Neat Image once and darkened it overall just a bit. Probably put one USM on it. But that's it! No holes, no special lights. That's the beauty of these flowers, they are so radiant! I'm so glad you liked it. Thanks everyone for your comments and votes!

eeek... Chrisi? But apology accepted, and not really needed!
aam1234 18-Oct-2006 12:05
Yeah, I got that wrong. Sorry Chrisi.

But wrong about Christina cutting a hole in a poor defenceless flower, a Aammm:-)

Great shot Christina. The lighting gives a sense of mystery to the core of the flower. jano

Yes, that's what I meant. Sorry!
aam1234 17-Oct-2006 18:08
You mean I was right, no PP, :)
Squared C17-Oct-2006 16:43
Rod's right, no PP except to darken it just a touch overall. Oh, and one run through neat image. And no flowers were hurt in the making of this photo!
aam1234 17-Oct-2006 14:04
I don't think it's a PP thing, I think she somehow managed to let some light from the back of the flower. I'm guessing she cut a little from the back (for the light to go through).

Wot's the problem with knowing now how Christina made this shot? If she took a rough looking shot & made it look great in PP then I can see how that might diminish its value, but if she as I would imagine took a good exposure & composition & brought it up to a good standard in PP then how does knowing spoil this shot? Very strange.

Great macro!
Love the light shining through the petals, awesome composition as well...

Sure aam, remind me!

Beautiful color and a wonderful glowing light. Sadly, my morning glories all died in yesterday morning's frost, so it's nice to see this one.

That's very considerate from you Christina. But I'd like to know after the challenge is over, if that's ok with you.
Squared C15-Oct-2006 18:57
I Pm'ed Neo to tell him. Didn't want to ruin it for you aam!
aam1234 15-Oct-2006 18:55
She used light very effectively :)
Guest 15-Oct-2006 18:34
Amazing shot! What's the story... ;-)
aam1234 15-Oct-2006 12:27
Beautiful! Won't ask how you did it because I don't want to ruin the photo.
