Winter 2005 Max Buten

Siberia

Flying from Chicago to Tokyo, I woke up in the middle of the night, raised the shade, and saw this.
At that time zone it was already daylight.
It looks much too rough for me!

I don't know why there's vignetting at the top - the plane's plastic window? At the bottom right I got a bit of the window frame.

I agree that the vignetting works for it. I wish for it to be a little more symmetrical, but what can you do. It's a great shot! Now I must fly over Siberia!

I love this, Max! It must have been stunning to look out the window and see this. The vignetting really suits it, making it look like an old postcard or a photo from a pre-1900 National Geographic. Amazing! ~Sharon
