Great image. I'm glad I saw the explanation or I might not have realized what it was. I too, liked the wrinkled background, I think it flows with the tecture of the flower, but the straight fold detracts ever so slightly. Very interesting idea.

Love it!

Thanks Shu, Sharon and CJ. I am glad that you liked it!!
CJ, I will see if that wrinkle can be straightened out. Not sure if I have enough room to rotate the subject without loosing part of it or changing the comp though. :) -Cat

Cat, I really like this but am a little distracted by the line caused by the folded fabric in the BG. I like the line as it adds interest, but I kinda wish it was more vertical.....I think! Great shot and love the perspective and composition! CJ

Thanks for the explanation, Cat! Its a great tone and really jumps off the screen. I can't wait to see what else you apply this to! ~Sharon

Thanks Jano, Sharon and Brent!! I am so glad that you all liked the photo and the tone!
Jano, I think Sharon already found out for you what this photo is. Its a daisy in a budvase. Here is the link to the setup:

Sharon, Once I had seen a portfolio of a pro who did various toning in his dark room on his BW work for sale. Since then it stayed with me for a long time. When I took this photo, it looked ordinary as any other flower, I decided to choose an unique tone which is not seen normally. I discovered this coppertone I liked and stayed with it! -Cat

Very cool image Cat. I really had to concentrate for a spell to figure out just what I was looking at.

Fantastic, Cat! You always do such thoughtful interpretations of the challenge themes and this one is no exception. I love the in-your-face flower with the tiny bud vase so far down below it! Just a great view from above. The "copper" toning is very unusual. I like it but am curious why you chose this particular tone. Good work! ~Sharon

What a great tone Cat! What is this exactly? A lamp? Hard for me to determine on this cheap hotel monitor :) Lovely image! jano
