Techo, here is the unedited panorama:

Some more exact numbers: Horizontal FOV according to PTGUI: 83.8°
360° / 8 pix = 45° per picture

Rich, you are right, this image calls for some explanation.

Actually, I intended to shoot an interior panorama of this church:

The church has a beautiful dome; I thought that its interior would make a good subject for a spheric panorama, 360° horizontally and 180° vertically.

Bad surprise: Instead of an unobstructed view to the altars, the walls and the cupola, I found a construction site inside the church with a huge scaffolding in the middle of the church for renovation purposes.

So I tried a 360° view from inside the scaffolding. Unfortunately, the result is looking a bit too busy. I have updated the image now, I hope this version is a bit better now.

The 8 single images were stitched with PTGUI and converted from rectangular to polar coordinates with PS in order to get the round shape.

Techo, I just found your comment when writing these lines. The overlap was rather big, almost 50%. I cannot tell exactly because I did not use a tripod. I'll post a link to the unedited PTGUI preview in a few minutes.

Gerald, these 360 captures are really cool. Working with such a wide lens how big of an overlap did you have between each photo?

Thanks,

Techo :)
