Parking Lot Canyon *

Conversation in the lot:
Woman: "Why do you take pictures of cracks in the parking lot?"
"Well" I said "It looks kinda cool... the sunset light hits it and makes the reflective paint glow"
Woman: "I suppose you're an artist or somethin'..."
"No ma'm, I'm a senior Mechanical Engineer"
Woman: "Well then fix the damn' parking lot... that'll be a whole heck of a lot more useful than taking pictures of cracks"
"We'll look into that ma'm"
Woman (to herself): "Freak!".

Well... The crack was right in front of her Beetle. It probably puzzled her I'm taking more interest on the pavement than on her (rather nice) brand spanking new Beetle convertible. Oh well...

Geez - the parking lot woman just didn't appreciate that you could take something as boring as a crack in the parking lot and make it look like the landscape from another planet. I guess we're all freaks :-)

LOL about the parking lot conversation. What we don't do for our "art"!

Of course, geez I'm a dope I forgot about the yellow paint. I was thinking this was just the yellow glow of the sun on the bitumen it makes sense now:-)

It does look strange doesn' it? The light is sunset and it strikes the yellow reflective paint, making it look "electric". Mind you this was the only angle at which you could see this reflection. The shadow along the crack is pretty evident. The sun was right behind and slightly off to one side (to avoid getting my fat, ugly shadow in there).

I can see the colour but I can't see the light. This sort of looks very strange mate.
