May is for Mallards*

Southern California

In May all the mallards are hanging out on campus and around town.
They've come to nest and they're not afraid of anything!
They're everywhere!

Nice and colorful * I would frame it in such a way that the colorful head does not conflicts with even more colorful background

So I upped the saturation on the head, but now I'm afraid I've overdone it. Hmmm... -Christina

OK, so I'm totally clueless on post processing. What's USM?

And thanks aam for the compliment on the self-portrait. How come yours isn't up there?

I like your mallard with the flowers in the background - very unusual for a wild duck to be wandering around like that - they must be very used to people! He may benefit from a little more brightness, contrast and USM which you could apply just to him. Very cute! :-) CJ

Honestly part II: I liked your picture in the Rouge gallery. You are very attractive person, if I may say so.

Honestly, I didn't look at this pic before. But I remember the thumbnail, and the thumb looked different.

Oh

I didn't crop it. This is the only one that I've had here...
And though I'm not really good at post processing, I did burn in the head a little bit, didn't want to overdo it though. I'll try some saturation tomorrow.

Do you want us to look at a duck? Not very appealing idea, if you ask me.
aam1234 20-May-2006 07:17
Chris, why did you crop it. It looked better before.

Nicely done Christina, how are you at post processing?
I would use the dodge tool to lighten the ducks head & then the saturation tool to bring out the nice colours that are there. This would also help the duck stand out from the flowers which wants to attract our eyes:-)
