Nicely composed, beautiful flower * a big flat leaf in the background is a tad distracting

Yes Oved. I do like the composition of that flower and the red veins show up nicely on the white flower but I must say I'm drawn to the red and yellow colors of the original. For this shot it might be nice to have the whole flower in focus too - I think! The white flower does have an O'Keefe look about it though doesn't it - good shot! :-) CJ

Thanks Carole. Not sure I can imitate O'Keeffe's style, but did you have something like this in mind:

Great color in this Oved and while I like the blurry background, I think it might be interesting to try a little bit different perspective which would have the red petals as the complete background for the pistal and then have a real tight crop of the flower - kind of like a Georgia O'Keeffe painting! Just a thought, as I love these flowers (and Georgia O'Keeffe) but can't grow them here! :-) CJ

Thank you Paul! I had some doubts WRT this picture as Rod posted a nice one of the same flower before it (now moved to Pending), and was not sure if I got the focus right...

Nicel. I like the way it rises out of the middle. DOF supports that. The tilt to the left is good too, giveis it movement. Paul (pbates)
