It's a great try in any case. Great job. I really enjoy all types of Astro photos.
Thanks for posting the setup details.
Though I must mention I too do not see any Red, but mostly Purple hues.

Unusual image! The light from far away galaxies _is_ "shifted to the red" explained to be like Doppler effect because of the speed in which they are going away from us... /Oved

G'day RK:
Well i'm by no means an expert at this stuff as i am still learning this and havent really bought all the gear i need to get really good pics. But i'm having fun with what i've got!
I connect the camera to a Bushnell camera adaptor that is specific to the 300D/350D, then this screws into a Meade T-adaptor which in turn screws onto the back of the telescope where you would usually attach the microfocus piece or your diagonal eyepiece holder.
Then i try and focus using the viewfinder on the 350D (an inexact science given the subject is near invisible!) then i just try different ISO's and exposure values, until i get what i'm after.
You can buy a whole range of stuff to make this process easier and more exact but i haven't got there yet!

Try www.scopetronix.com for more info and accessories. I get stuff from them often, even though they are in California and i'm in Western Australia...

Rentasmo:
I know it's not a vivid red but i took this for the CSLR low light challenge and thought i'd put it up here as it kinda still fitted the challenge, and thought a few people might like it as there aren't many astrophotos in here much. It is predominantly red... but if the organisers want to kick it out i won't complain.

Rod: Thanks for your interest.

Brett, this is awesome.
I have a Meade telescope too.
Would you be kind enough to tell us (me) on the how to?
