Yes I think the contrast can make shots look over sharpened. I will wait for your reworked version but this shot has that difference that I like, sort of a high key look.

Thanks Jano and Rod. Used USM with 100/1/0 parameters...but used a good dose of contrast... maybe thats what causing the effect. I will re-work this picture.

RK - for whatever reason, this seems a little oversharpened to me, especially the branches the bird is sitting on - maybe just my eyes? Beautiful shot nonetheless and very colorful bird that you captured - and those eyes!!! jano

This works really well for me with the great lighting & the background doesn't overpower the shot as it's not pure white. Nice work RK it has a lovely feel to it.
