I did a little with USM on this plus a little contrast and highlights, Walt. Maybe it needs more? I think there is an illusion with the horizon as since this is a river, the shoreline is winding around the bend in the distance which makes it look a little tilted. I don't think it is but I could be wrong :-) It is so easy to tilt the camera when pressing the shutter but for me it's usually to the right! CJ

Great colors and textures. I wonder if some USM would enhance the textures, or would it break the mood? And is it just the way the shapes interact, or was the camera tilted a bit left? - Walt Bilofsky

Thanks, Canoneer! This is a beautiful spot along a great trail next to the Mississippi River in Northern Minnesota, about 60 miles from the source. I hope to go back and see what it looks like in the spring. :-)

Thanks Sueanne, Rod and Oved. Fall is my favorite time of the year in Minnesota as the trees turn brilliant colors and then there is the added bonus of all the lakes and rivers.
