Thanks all for the comments. I tried to redo this but it was crap, like something you have done at one of those poxy 'glamour' places. As a photo i don't think this is very good with its crook lighting and dull background, it's like a nasty mugshot in jail...but...for me this was a spur of the moment thing on the last working day of the year, knackered, hot, grubby and sunburnt with the xmas break on my mind and this version does what i wanted it to do so the other versions have been wiped into oblivion.

Oh, that was me who said those things (finally getting the name to work).

Again, didn't read any of the comments.

Man, you have a natural talent, don't you Paul? Excellent idea, beautiful excution...but most of all...honest interpretation. You have a winner right there Paul.

Paul, good idea here. Time flies whether we are having fun or not, so you know what i think, have fun and live large. Yvonne

Great idea! Paul, your face seems a little on the pinkish side - sunburn? I like the way your eyes have stayed the same :) Just very interesting to view. jano

There I was just thinking you have been in an accident, but you were born like that. This is a great idea for this challenge Paul, well done mate.

Thanks all.
Britt, i agree with what you say and a day after taking this it looks a bit like a mugshot but for me it grabs the mood in which i took the photo on the last friday of a long working year. I've had another go this arvo with a completely different mood which i'll put up later this evening as another entry as despite the glaring faults here i like this.

I agree a darker background would help. But still a great picture. theFly

Paul, I really like this idea but wish the bg was a different color as it really doesn't do much to accentuate the focus of the picture. The far right side lighting is a bit weird on the side of your face as well. Any way to reshoot in a more asthetic background?
:)

Boy ain't it the truth... I like the concept and how you executed the picture. Cool to see who you've changed and how you haven't. Ann C

Great idea and shot Paul. I saw it briefly before you made some adjustments and like it even better with the crop and lightening too.
Paul 23-Dec-2005 03:03
Thanks all,
Still innocent Shu, can't you tell?:>)

I've done another crop. The original shot had loads of empty space so my original crop seemed cut right down in comparison but i think the extra crop has helped . I also lightened it just a tad as i went on the other computer in here and it looked a bit dark on that monitor.

How the eyes have changed! From innocence to.........??? Just kidding, Paul. This IS a great shot! I agree with Abs about cropping on the top and right-hand side. shu
ctfchallenge23-Dec-2005 01:42
this is a cool concept! i like it.
although i would crop out the image from top (little bit above the top of the photo) and right side (very close to your ear). imho it should imcrease the impact. -Abstract
