Funny how this has grown on me. Would you believe I'm off to go vote for it now? LOL! ~ Lonnit

Thanks guys, I'm a little taken aback. I must say, however, that I do enjoy my little S70. Even when I have a bag full of DSLR gear, it comes along. And I almost always pull it out.. Gotta love that 28 mm! -- Bruce

Excellent Bruce, fabulous mood to this

I have to agree with Lonnit. While I think this is a beautiful photo (as I said below), I want to see it with a level horizon. Converging lines and all, I think the tilt detracts from the image because it's not consistent with the mood of the photo.

This shot wouldn't be as dramatic without the tilt. It speaks volumes to me. The tilt in the horizon almost conflicts with the beach chairs, which makes it even more powerful IMO. I feel it is an artistic image, and I would assume thought out. If not, still an artistic image for me. Applaud! Hooray! Yay! jano

Yeah, Lonnit you're right, just about every shot I've taken with my S70 this past week has been tilted. But . . . lot's of my shots are titled, this business of keeping the horizon level is mere convention (though a strong one, I think).

Thanks for your thoughtful comments though. I don't really think of my (or any) photography as "art" per se. More so as journalism. But I do appreciate your encouraging words very much.

Lonnit...I tend to disagree with you. If you scroll the picture up...so as to cutoff the horizon... there seems to be no sense of tilt...looks like a wide angle effect. Its the tilt of the horizon that makes this picture dramatic (atleast for me). Love the way all the lines, footsteps and the sky flow towards the convergence point. The sky seems almost painted in...I can ramble on...

I love everything about it, except, maybe, the tilt. That I'm unsure about. However, it wouldn't qualify if it weren't tilted, now would it? LOL! Ok, here's the thing... I think. I feel like you tilted it only because you were shooting for the challenge, and not because the scene called to you to be tilted. It just doesn't scream to me that you were so wrapped up in the moment that the artist in you demanded that you tilt the camera. It's a lovely shot and beautifully processed. I'd absolutely lose the tilt though. You've no need to prove you've got talent - we know that. Now go out and shoot something that screams, "Tilt me!!!" and you'll blow us all away! :) ~ Respectfully, Lonnit
