Paul, what will the next challenge be so I can start shooting now? LOVE THIS!! ~Britt

Thanks CTF Challenge whoever you are:>)

Rod, stop spoiling my fun, just because your tt is made out of an old banana box with a 6 inch nail on a stick is no need to get jealous.
ctfchallenge13-Dec-2005 08:43
At first i thought it was a guitar!Cool!!!!
Rod 11-Dec-2005 18:44
Iso didn't ask wot TT you had Paul he just commented on your silly thick platter. I imagine he would like to know that I made me own custom TT a one off, unique in the world of audiophilia. So just answer the questions at hand & stop showing off.
Do you want some chocy powder in yer milk.
Paul 11-Dec-2005 09:53
Thanks Iso, i was mortified when i saw your photo but i'm glad it was pointed out now rather than later.

The Ortofon writing is a pig to get as well as the Jubilee at the same time, if it's bit darker so the front writing doesn't appear so bright then the Jubilee writing gets hard to pick out. I might try some experimentation.

The record is The Division Bell by Floyd. The turntable is an SME Model 10 with an SME IV arm, one of those once a lifetime purchases:>)

Paul - Your shot is way better than mine. The colours are real nice on this and it has a totally different feel to it. I'm also awfully impressed by the thickness of your platter, and reading between the lines I reckon Rod is suffering from platter envy ;)

On purely nit picky and * reasons, much as the highlight is needed to help give the 3D depth, it is a shame that is strikes straight down the centre of the word Ortofon making it difficult to read. I like the blue effect of the vinyl. Electric Light Orchestra?
Rod 11-Dec-2005 08:16
Don't be embarrased young Paul, if it's any consolation I think your shots way better than Iso's.
Now drink yer milk.
Paul 11-Dec-2005 01:53
Bang And Olufsen? Style over substance my dear boy:>) Regardless, you should dig it out and give your ear drums a rest from the awful nastiness of digital music reproduction.
Rod, i'm embarrssed enough as it is, can you imagine how much worse i'd feel if it was one of your photos i'd inadvertantly copied?
Brent 11-Dec-2005 01:39
I like it Paul- well shot. Maybe my Bang & Olufsen would sound even better though ;-) Actually I hate to say I haven't used it in years and seeing this makes me want to pull all my old LPs out of storage and start hearing what has been slipping through the cracks listening to CDs.
Rod 11-Dec-2005 01:38
Bleeding L Paul normally copies my shots which aint too hard. But as his head expands he now has the audacity to try & copy the master’s shots. .....................Shame on you, yer mongrel boofhead.
I think your platter is thicker than Iso's too Paul.
Paul 11-Dec-2005 01:14
Oh dear Iso, how embarrassing. Can we say great minds think alike? I have to say yours has a far greater sense of movement and action than this but my Ortofon sounds far better than your Audio Technica:>)

Hmmmm. Why do I like this so much :)http://www.pbase.com/ctfchallenge/image/15097116

Another great image, guys! shu
Paul 10-Dec-2005 01:56
Thanks all. Rod , if you claim to be an audiophile then you would know that some records need more anti skate than others. This one exhibited a tad more left channel distortion than i like hence the angle of attack so to speak.
I don't know how to tilt an image in post proccesing, this was done with the tripod as it has one of those tilty things on the top.
Rod 10-Dec-2005 01:50
As an audiophile this shot looks tilted to me. What is the hidden meaning in this shot. There must be something other than a bleeding tilt. ............................bet you did it in PS.
ctfchallenge10-Dec-2005 01:23
The tilt works well with this photo.

FANTASTIC!!! and you said you couldn't get into this haha. Couldn't be more perfect of an angle. jano

Great angle and composition. The dof here really makes it work. - alexoki
