I agree with Paul this gets worse every time I look at it. It will only attract the girls vote.

Paul u crack me up :) Wonderful storyline... lol. The clouds really are magnificant but i think when you fill the frame with them they lose significance if not having some negative space... but alas...this is the challenge we face. I do think, however, that the black clouds towards the top and bottom right really adds intrigue. Darn that you couldn't get some lighting!!! I do like it the more I look at it. jano

It looks like you've changed something here because it looks a bit more dramatic to me. (And NO, it's not because of the story!) I think it looks great, Paul. ~Britt

Wot a load of guff, he's after our sympathy vote.
I know wot you mean mate & you're spot on about the being there & the cold light of day. That's the beauty of photography by not so much capturing what is there but the feeling of what is there. Your post should be required reading for all the unwashed amonst us. Well done yer boofhead.

How dissapointing but i can see why. I took this shot yesterday evening as a huge storm approached from the west. The air was stiffling and i stood outside as the heavens were boiling above me, hence the title. Just a few miles away was a solid grey wall of rain as the storm came in and i downloaded and resized this and posted as the torrents of rain fell outside the open study windows with flashes of lightening all around and crashes of thunder so this to me was a powerful image. Coming back to it this morning when i fell out of bed at 5.30 with a frsh breeze blowing in a clear blue sky it had lost most of it's feeling. If you were there then the photo would have meant more but surely a successful photo is one that gives the viewer wherever they are the feeling that they ARE there so this falls flat somewhat. I took 30 or 40 on the trot of the boiling skies hoping to get a flash of lightening but didn't. However, when i view the photos quickly in succession i get the boiling effect that is rather good. Alas i can only post 3 and pbase takes quite a while to load somedays.

Ever onwards so this might be replaced as i'm rather enjoying this challenge. Thanks for the comments by the way.

I think it looks rather nice Paul. Typical of the season; we've had a few too many of these looming above us here in Seattle lately- but they are interesting to look at. I like the title.

You could probably beef up the contrast a bit to make it more "stormy" looking. I see what you're going for here and it might just be there.... ~Britt

Wots more boring than a picy of grass?..................................Its a picy of the sky. Plus this shot is unAustralian as we only get blue skys which would be more interesting then this.............................almost.
