Yes, definitely leave the roof in - otherwise one would not get the feeling that the balloon is on its way to being long gone, and the roof also gives it perspective as to where the balloon is in the sky. Love your fishing line story :) Great shot. jano

Thanks for the comments, I did get some shots without the roof, but they seemed lifeless with nothing to scale against. So for now, I'm going to leave the roof, perhaps if the sky was more interesting I could have got away without the roof.
You'll be pleased to know Paul, that I still have the balloon and it isn't choking a seagull - lol. I did feel a prat with a balloon on the end of 50' of fishing line wandering round with a camera. The lengths we go to for these challenges - lol - Steve

I like this one. It works for me with the roof as i get a feeling that the balloon is being "Lost forever" from suburbia with a load of kids watching it spin up into oblivion to choke some poor old seabird somewhere. If we didn't have the house we wouldn't have the mood of loss.

Hi Redbull, I like the idea for this entry, but for me it would work better without the roofline. Perhaps if the light on the roof wasn't quite so flat I would feel differently about that.

David.
