You know I didn't notice before, but it almost looks like he is beginning to salute and there is a flag on the grave. Are you sure he isn't visiting his son's grave who was a soldier?

Yvonne, This is a great comp. Very touching, even though the face is not visible, it tells a story. -Cat

No Britt you're not stupid just a bit girly at times:-) If you look at the shutter speed it was a bit slow for the focal length of the lens so the Iso couldn't be any less unless Yvonne opened up the F-stop. F8 is the sharpest setting for the kit lens so mine is almost welded at F8:-)

Hi Britt, Thanks for the response. The wheelchair guy experimented with to get a differant look, I knew what I wanted in my head but could not reproduce it. Here, I over guessed the lighting, it was raining and I went from shooting in my car through the window to rolling the window down for this one. I will keep an eye on that ISO I often forget to change it and shoot away for days LOL...Yvonne

I like this shot a lot better Yvonne. I'm wondering why you are shooting with such a high ISO? I think this was your setting on the wheelchair guy as well and that photo was pretty darn washed out, too. I would really shoot these brighter shots at a much lower ISO to bring out your highlight details more. It might help with the color too. Just my thoughts. Okay, now I'm going to stand back and get ready for the onslaught of people telling me how stupid I am......

This one is right out of the camera with a touch of sharpening only. Yvonne

Hi Pals, Yes, I like the more natural look. I think my moniter was a bit off. My camera is set with less saturation. (and we all know Rod I don't know squat about filters in p.s.) This scene touched me too. I watched him pull up and get slowly out of his car and make his way over, it was raining...inside and out. Yvonne (sniff sniff)

Yvonne, Thanks for reposting the shot. IMHO this one works a lot better :)
Do you think so aswell?

This one is better, Yvonne, especially with the hand that looks as if it may be wiping away a tear. Very touching. I generally love saturated colors, but I think the colors here stilll need to be softened.

Do you have the saturation settings turned up in camera Yvonne, or are you using a Velvia filter in PS? Saturated colours look good at first but in the end your shots will have the same look, so be very careful young lady:-)

Ok - now this is a different shot and I do like it better :) More up close and personalized. Also less saturated which works for me, but still a tad over possibly with the grass. I feel sorrow for this poor guy :( jano

I agree with Marry Anne. Though the colors bring some vibrance to the scene it is a little overpowering. The yellows are oversaturated. It would also be nice if we had a little more closeup of the scene on the right.

It certainly does give a sense of being alone, but I think I'd like more subdued colors here.

Nice capture of "Alone" and the increased saturation makes this picture work for me.
