She looks relaxed and with her right arm up looking at her hand twirling a leaf, she seems to enjoy the comfort of the blanket of leaves and the peacefulness of the wood. shu

Yes, she really looks lifeless

DO NOT listen to Rod though! lol jano
Rod 03-Nov-2005 10:07
Tomas, Maybe she should be naked then you could call the shot "Lady Cadaver"

Thanks all for the comments. It's not possible to reshoot this so I may eventually change the title again to something like 'Autumn Scene with a Cadaver'. Tomas

The color, sharpness, WB, etc., are lovely - but frankly this looks like someone shot down in his/her tracks. Kinda gives me the creeps vs. someone who is contemplating or recharging. Perhaps a different pose or closer composition would work better. I appreciate your interpretation. jano

My 2 cents... first I knew it was a guy... second, I love the idea but agree with other posters that the pose of the person doesn't quite fit recharging. The colors are great and the scene is really inviting. I can picture lying down here and drinking in the scent of the fall leaves. Ann

Tomas, you should hide the deadbody carefully after killing someone. most important thing, never put photos of your dead victims online hehehehe :)
i really like colors (especially the constrast between leaves and blue jacket) and composition of the shot. very well done. -Abstract

I thought the face looked feminine, but the clothing is all male. I didn't find any bulges in the shirt or pants to confirm anything. Titling this is a challenge indeed. I think you'd have to go to yiddish to find the right word. LOL! ~ Lonnit
Rod 31-Oct-2005 09:41
Maybe sitting up would have been better then her woman’s bulgy things wouldn't flatten out, thereby avoiding the confusion. Nice shot Tomas mate:-)

I've just found out that MSIE reports the filesize somewhere around 158 000 bytes. But in the Pbase's "edit gallery" it shows 152458 bytes so I hope it's ok. The image is already small enough and the quality so-so. Tomas

Thanks for the comments. She indeed is a lady and I'm not sure she'd be pleased by reading the discussion :). I had quite a difficult job fitting the image into the size limit. The complicated texture of the leaves apparently increases the filesize in the JPEG compression. I also didn't quite like the 'Contemplation' title but couldn't come up with anything better. Maybe this is more suitable. Tomas
ctfchallenge31-Oct-2005 04:57
just the immediate thought of contemplation didn't jump right out at me when I looked at this photo first. Perhaps if the hands where tucked in behind the head and looking up instead of to the side. But now that I took another long look at this photo, I do get it more.

sorry it might have been a guy *blush* I'll just keep my mouth shut next time ;) but then again I gave Lonnit another LOL.

Lady? Isn't it a guy? LOL! I thought it might be a self portrait. Excellent job! I love the body language - it's dramatic. The individual does indeed look troubled. Well done! ~ Lonnit

Perhaps you have photo of the lady sitting on the ground instead of laying on the ground like that. She's sorta in a funny playing dead pose ;) I like the scene fall scene though. You've got a pretty nice location for a shot like this.

p.s.
This photo's file size exceeds the challenge rules of 150KB = 153,600, if you can please repost it that would be great. Wouldn't like to move anything to the Pending gallery.

Thanks,
-Techo :)
