Excellent work Oved! I like Photo of the lens through the lens through the lens and the reflection of the lens on the lens and on the lens. :) -Cat

Don't try it at home David, the values I gave were a joke mate, 5000---50---10 would fry your image:-). If you give your image a USM of 100---point 3--- 0 a couple of times & once again after downsizing that should get your images nice & sharp. Use it once only if the shot doesn't need much sharpening & up to 3 times if it needs it.

USM = UnSharp Mask, with the values for Amount, Radius and Threshold - a sharpening filter. ~ Armin

Great image. And as far as the challenge goes it's a double punt - once through the glass of the spectacles and then again through the contact lens (that is a contact lens I see, right?).

Could somebody enlighten me please - what is USM 5000 - 50 - 10?

Thanks,

David.

Thanks Markjay, anonymous and Rentasmo. \Oved

Good shot, I might have been tempted to clone out some of the vessels in the eye, but then again I might have taken away from the image by doing that.

Excellent!

What a dfference a day makes!! This shows the power of the challenge. Someone uploads and image. There are comments / critiques, and suddenly an eye-opener (pun, pun) appears the next day in place of the original that far exceeds the original in effectiveness. Way to go, Oved!! Markjay

Thanks Paul, Jano, Britt, Rod. I keep forgeting at my age that manual focus is the key for closeups :-)

Wow that's sharp as now Oved, I'm surprised the USM of 5000-50-10 didn't work mate:-)

Wow ~ you focused the blue right out of the eye! Nice job! ~Britt

You got the focus right on this time! Great shot! jano

My word! So much better, great detail and expression with your eye.

Thanks all for your comments. Here is take 2 on the subject (sorry Rod, the "focus" PS action didn't help, not your USM suggestion:). Hmmm, an oportunity for a lot of practice :-)

Our eyes are often "creepy" up close. I think the blurriness may be adding to it. Yvonne

Better focus would help. Comp-wise: I like the angle of the eye looking toward the reflection of where the light is coming into the eye. Kind of looks as if he's nervously waiting for someone to come home. Either that or waiting for the doc to come in for a rectal. Thoughful expression either way. ~Britt

The lighting is a bit harsh on this shot Oved, it's a good idea though. If you like it then try a USM of 5000-50-10. That should fix it..................I think:-)
Paul 14-Oct-2005 11:31
This needs to be in focus
