The muted silver metalic green color with matching background looks realy nice Rod. Unique find. Can't believe its the same flower as posted below... -Cat

At first I thought this shot was desaturated... which if everyone desaturated they'd ALL be color on color. I see that it's just suble coloration. Nice job Rod. I see the 350d has inspired you!

Thanks all:-) Don't take us too seriously Techo, My flower is a Grevillia. I'm just being silly to amuse Paul. Plus XXXX drinkers don't know the names of flowers, it's not manly:-) Paul knows the name of all the flowers in his garden......wot a girl he is.

Love the blurred background and the nicely captured focus on the plant thingymajig. Very nice capture Rod! jano

Thanks Rod, I should've noticed the green ferns around. So Grevillea is also AKA Queensland Daisy. Good to know.

-Techo
Paul 06-Aug-2005 12:37
No genetic modification, just a few bags of cow muck. I never knew the grevillea was known as a Queensland Daisy, nice name. See, you did know what it was, you just didn't want to appear 'girly' eh? :>)
Rod 06-Aug-2005 05:05
As it was on the same tree as the Daisy I posted, the odds are it will be more like that Techo:-) Paul’s flower has been genetically modified by the looks of it.

wow! I had no idea this pic of Rod's will look like that pink one Paul posted. Quite amazing.

Rod, I really like this shot! It looks the perfect combination of crisp, clear "flowerthingy" and smokey, blurred mysterious background. Yvonne

Paul your flower looks a lot like our Queensland Daisy..........I think
Paul 05-Aug-2005 08:07
By the way, this is a Grevillea in our front garden.

Ifyou hang around a bit it might look like this. Wouldn't be on topic of course
Paul 05-Aug-2005 07:49
Boofhead forum? Take it Outside you goose!

It's a Grevillea.
Rod 05-Aug-2005 07:04
Thanks Mary Anne & Techo, I must apologise for Paul as he doesn't know how to behave in nice company. I'm trying to find a boofhead forum for him.
ctfchallenge04-Aug-2005 23:28
I echo Mary Anne's words. Also, nice catch at 200mm.

-Techo :)

Rod, I love the muted color palette and the DOF. Other than that, I'm not joining in this conversation.

It's a Grevillea you nincompoop.
I like the sharp focus with the heavy blur in the background. It's almost erotic isn't it? An erectile projectile just waiting to erupt into bloom.
Good one
