Thanks Mary Anne & Abs good points about the shade but I was hoping the sunlight on the telegraph wires may have counteracted the cooling effect of the trees. When I see the wires like that it's normally in the glare of the hot afternoon sun.

Rod, I like the angle of this shot, but I think I'd play around with brightening and high contrast to give it more of a glaring hot noontime look. To me, all those dark trees suggest too much shadow (and respite from the heat).
