Shades of Red *

Feel that this picture needs a black background to bring out the colors, hence the border.

Thanks Rich, Jano, Paul and Rod for the comments. This was a passing shot, I have to give total credit to the lens. This lens produces some awesome unpredictable shots.

Normally a shot that is too colourful doesn't work for me, but this one does must be the border:-)
Paul 14-Jun-2005 10:16
This just jumps out at you with its vibrancy, stunning colours and i find your use of focus perfect here.

Wow - this photo simply pops out at you! I like the black border as it works well and I would definitely use it when framing. I think, however, this photo would work even without the PS border. What kind of flower is this? I would be so proud if this were a photo taken by me. Simply lovely. jano

Don't tell me I have to put the silly IMHO in every post.
I don't sugar coat my words which is quite common down here. But no one needs permission from me & I would be embarrassed if it was seriously asked.

Great shot, for me the background in this type of shot is what makes it great.

(Sounds like permission to me.) Shu
Rod 13-Jun-2005 06:05
aaammmam where did you read RK asking for my permission?
As stated many times here before & I will state it again for the attention span challenged.
""Borders are fine on shots as long as they don't distract from the picy""Frames are another matter:-)
A common use for black borders was to help the colours look more saturated so you did the right thing RK.

Thanks Lee, Shu and Aam for the comments. Didn't mean to put Rod on the spot, was explaining the reasoning behind the border... maybe should have addressed to all.

Why do you need Rod's permission?

Great colors, both the flower in focus and the background.

The border works, RK and Rod does not need an explanation! He just loves to pull your cork out. (Sort of what he does literally on a daily basis.LOL). Great color and DOF! Shu
