Your point of view on this shot is awesome. Who knew that a simple set of badminton birdies and a racket could look this cool? It makes me want to go out and play it! http://www.badmintonwarehouse.com/Shuttlecocks-Birdies-s/22.htm

no biggy, i was just wondering if there was a quirk in software somewhere.

btw, it is a fantastic photo for all the reasons stated below.

You are right! My bad.... it should have been 24-70 L not 28-70 Will correct it right away... -Cat

i have a simple question. your exif info says you shot this at 27mm yet your lens is a 28-70mm?? i must be missing something. :-) dorys

This is just so... beautiful! Such soft, wonderful light, perfectly balanced composition (I think the can gives it more balance).

Nice composition and crisp light

Thanks Rich, I noticed that everything else has some shadow, so removing the shadow of just the can looks a little un-natural, so I left in what I can call a trace of shadow of the original. Thanks for your input. -Cat

The thinned shadow is better, but I would prefer the no shadow as everything appears to be suspended on a cloud, to me. Rich.

Thanks Rod,
I am glad you liked it. And you guessed the reason of the can to be there correctly! I have placed the can/tube in the background to counterbalance the tallness of the shuttle-cock in the forground. If I remove it, something goes missing. Only thing I was not OK with, was the shadow, as Rich pointed out. So I thinned it. -Cat

Very nice Cats, I think I like the can & the shadow. The can seems to compose well with the front shuttle cock. Very good set up & shot mate

Thanks all,
Here are the pictures to your taste... Now comment. I like the "Thin shadow the best of the three. (don't worry about the white balance, its taken under different light, it can be corrected) --Cat.

I agree with all, excellent shot but I would clone out that shadow or whatever it is coming off the the bottom right of can. Rich

Very cool. Love the amazing depth of field you got. I'm with Lee though. Can the can. ;-) Ann C.

Very well done. (*) I am not sure about the can though. It seems busy compared to the very clean shot of the racquet and shuttle cocks.

Cat, i was trying to think, how do i recognize your shots...
i think, its neatness/tidiness of your subject arrangement. its just...what do i say...just perfect. just like some magazine ads, everything seem exactly where it supposed to be. you put quite a though in your set-up, dont you? i like your style of studio-photography (something i dont like/equipped to do) in general. -Abstract

Excellent, Cat! Very good.
Paul 20-May-2005 10:04
I really like this one Cat, the fact that it is all in focus is a big plus. The lining up of the 2 shuttle cocks to make the front one seem as big as a teepee is excellent.

Man !!! you are fast, just like your karate(!?!) kick.! I just finished final things and I already have your comments. Thanks. I am glad you liked it. -Cat
