Hi Jose Pablo, maybe my daughter, but my wife is almost impossible to shoot and it would be even harder for her to allow me to post it. As we say around here "mas dificil que ensillar un gallinazo" (donde ensillar se refiere a ensillar una montura y gallinazo es un buitre). To English speakers, that transliterates as "harder than saddling a vulture".

Very nice portrait Nugar. You already had a great one of your son, and now one of your Dad. Are we going to see the rest of the family in future challenges? :)
-Jose Pablo.

Such a natural shot! The thoughtful expression is great. It's wonderful to get shots of family members like this. Excellent!

Beautiful portrait and appropriate selection of color

Well, Mom and Dad loved the picture. Me, everytime I see it I realize how old my parents are becoming. Luckily, they're still strong and healthy. Actually, when I see myself in the mirror, I realize I'm not too young either. Not old, but I can see how time is affecting me.

Hi Paul, thanks for your comment. I took this picture last Sunday at my house. Today I will print it for framing at home at to give a copy to Mom.

Humberto, i think this is a stunning portrait, your fathers expression fits the mood so well and the title you've given the shot couldn't be improved upon. This could be my favourite.

Thanks Andy!
Thanks techo. Yes the color is actually pretty natural. C1 saturates by 10% by default when you convert it. I let it do it and then decided it was no good when it was already a tif, lol. I will print this and frame it as well as give it to Mom. I'll have to take a shot of both of them too.

What a keeper! A wonderful family member portrait. Even though you said you desaturated it a bit the color looks very natural to me. I to can't decide if I like it in B/W or color, but the B/W version sure is emotionally strong. How about you post your B/W version in exhibition ? :-)

I think this works in colour. The crop/composition is great. I don't see sad, i see thoughtful. Well done. (first comment on this site)

Very nice! I agree about liking the negative space. I can't help but wonder what he was looking at and what was on his mind.
Guest 18-Apr-2005 03:11
Humberto, excellent shot. I also like the negative space, well done.

Nugar,
Great portrait, lots of emotion. Really like the negative space to the left. I hope he is just posing for the picture and not truly sad.

Thanks Lee,

I couldn't decide whether it would be better in color or B&W, so what I did was desaturate it a bit.
