Just some test shots. This one was taken with the kit lens. The 100mm f2.8 macro I also have did not offer an advantage for this shot, with the exact same settings and standing farther back from the subject, looking at a 100% crop side by side no one would tell the difference, and the kit lens seemed to win over the 100mm in this situation. I suppose I should leave it for macros and not for portrait or product shots of this kind, where such an extended DOF is required.
edit: I just happened to notice I set the camera's internal clock one day a head, so I edited the shot date to the actual date the photo was taken.
