Hi guys, many thanks for your comments. It's an hour+ drive from my house to Westport Poin, Mass where I took the shoy. I took a chance on the sunset and made the drive. This shot was earler in the evening, but I lucked out with a beautiful sunset that evening.

I think my Viewsonic LCD may well be more contrasty. I can see all the graduations on the contrast scale in the gallery, but the two highest and lowest blocks are very close. The shading is much more gradual on my ibook.
Cheers
Richard.

Shirley being a girl would you have an Apple LCD screen? Cos they add the contrast our manly CRTs don't:-)

It doesn't look flat on my Apple monitor. It looks gorgeous! Shu

Looking flat here too. The thumb looked nice but then when I opened the shot I was disappointed in the flatness. ~ Lonnit

Have you tried to print this shot Richard? As this may help you determine which monitor to trust. As in whether the print out looks a bit flat.

Thanks. The comment on the flatness was especially helpful, as I have been having problems trying set the correct gamma on my monitor . The shot looks great on my Viewsonic/PC setup, but definately looks flat on my iBook. Both are are supposedly set to a gamma of 2.2. I guess at this point I am not sure which one to trust :-(
Richard.

The shot seems a tad flat to me I wonder if you can emphasise the golden glow a bit more. Nice shot though.

This is gorgeous! Beautifully composed, and I love the golden light reflected in the water.
