Lakes Entrance Bridge at Dusk

Lakes Entrance is situated on the Ninety Mile Beach in Gippsland, Victoria, Australia.
It is a favourite holiday destination for Victorians. Taken with the expensive Hoya HMC multi-coated Cir- Polarizing filter ($90), and Hoya Multi Hood attached to the Pro1. Armed with my Electronic mosquito Repeller attached to my Pro1 neck strap, I sat on the sand bed by the Lake and waited for just the right moment at around 8.00 pm when the sun touched the horizon :-)

Markjay, Yes you are spot on... This was the actual colour the camera captured. I had thought of turning it into a B & W, but then it would not have the golden glow for this challenge :-)

Richard, I'm glad you didn't change the color tone of this image from what you actually saw through your viewfinder (correct me if I'm wrong?). Nicely done. Markjay

Thanks Julian... But I am surprised that Rod has not brought charges against me, claiming that the bridge is a Silhouette, thus technically a grey area as far as being on-topic:-)

Superb shot. It's amazing how the presence of people makes this shot. Without them it would have been just a bridge - now it's a story. Thank God you didn't use a flash in this one or put the horizon smack in the middle. LOL

Richard this is truly a stunning photograph. I like how you let the sun paint the water and then you chose to predominate the foreground with it. Do you have this one on your wall somewhere? Good work! Brian

Thanks Rod.... The Mozzie repeller cost me $15, about the size of 5 fifty cents coins stacked together, has a "watch" type battery that lasts 500 hours, and I'd say seems to work for 95% of the time. Apparently only the female mozzies bite, so the repeller makes the ultrasonic pitch sound of the male mosquito ... and the females don't want to come near the males when feeding (biting).Works to a radiur of 1 to 2 metres. Saves a fortune on insect spray and you don't smell of hydrocarbons :-)

It takes a good shot to get me to battle my way past silly frames & sigs & it was well worth the effort Richard. Great shot mate. Does the mozzie repellent thingy work?
