This is like an alien object considering I live in Florida... can you say flatlands? ;-)
Fascinating structure. Markjay

It is indeed the biggest rock on the planet. Scientist estimate that it goes down at least 5 kilometers below ground. Our guide asked us how much we think it weighs? The answer is "one stone" LOL! It was a real thrill for me to see it and we were very lucky that we had perfect conditions at sunset. Mrs. Pops and I were sipping champagne at the time! It's a treasured memory. A 20x30 version of this is on the wall at home! Pops

Very good Pops you captured it well. They used to call it the biggest rock in the world. Don't know if it still is.

Opps, I thought she said "3 hours". 3 days is very far! (sorry Pops for hijacking your photo).

Gayle. Some years ago a friend spent 6 months in Oz. I asked if she'd visited Ayers Rock and she replied "No, because when you get there, all that's there is... Ayers Rock".
You make it sound like "only 3 days drive" is just around the corner! I could drive end to end and back again in the UK in 3 days!
(Sorry, Pops, nic pic!). Phil

Pops, I’m speechless (a rare event according to my wife)! This is just stunning... Well done! Brian

Rich, it's also known as Ayers Rock and is in the middle of Australia. I must get there one day......it's only about 3 days drive from my house. Gorgeous photo, you really caught that glow that rock is famous for.
