!973 Rod

Proud Boy *

Nazare Portugal

Showing off the fish his Dad caught.........Or maybe he just stole em off the trawler:-)
Now without little black border. It's not really practising what I preach as I've always said Black is beautiful & non distracting:-) Now the shot looks.....erm,..great:-)

This is a very good shot Rod, his mother(?)in the background helps make it work. Rich

Really Abs are you serious a blue border.....me:-) It’s not a case of putting them on it’s just that I didn't take them off. Years ago before I started in digital & slowly getting back into photography I scanned some of my slides in. In the 70s when I had a lab print up a custom 8 x 10 they put little black borders on which impressed me & the missus no end:-) So after scanning my slides my daughter showed me how to put the borders on. I must admit I don't mind borders if they don't attract the eye & black has real trouble saying look at me, that's why I would never put a border on by picking a colour from the shot. If you want to emphasise say an eye colour then this should be done when you shoot the shot or with help from PS, never with a border, Yuk:-)

Superb shot! What's with all the old ones? Surely you've taken good pix since then! ;) ~ Lonnit

1973!!! i wasnt even born then.
Rod, this is one of my favorite photos ever. the expressions, standing style, two different colored slippers and composition is just awesome.
there is already dark-grey background, so IMHO you dont need black frame. i see the thumbnail above this comment box in white background, where black frame looks nice. i would have used kid's pants' blue color(so brighter shirt will stand-out) in the frame though. -Abstract
