* Whirlwind

Queens, NY, USA

I took this shot in focus then unfocused the lens and took another frame, blended the layers together in PS and added a bit of a twist. The duplication of the image does not come from the double exposure (which only provided the glow) but from the PS effect added in then faded out.

Quite misterious effect, seems a whirlwind

Yes Iso, it was just a fun experiment. I took the shot but it seemed lacking. I decided to play with it in PS to see what I could come up with since I already had it. Mostly I was trying to make lemonade. Perhaps it came out too tart! LOL! Or maybe it's my billboard sign that is more of a tart shot! LOL! ;)

Dorys, I'm not sure about the blue. I think maybe if it's not in the circle it shouldn't be anywhere else either. I think it might look unbalanced if removed only from the circle, no?

I'm glad someone liked it, Shu! :) Thanks.

Rod, I know, you're more of a purist. You like special effects done in-camera. Once in a while I like to have some post-fun. :)

Well I certainly have no problem with PS'ing stuff. Personally I love post processing images, though I usually know what I'm going to do to a picture at the time of taking it (previous challenge a prime example). This one just seems to have too much going on for me. A fun experiment perhaps, but nothing holds my eye for long. IMHO.

wot is going on rod is that lonnit pharted all over this image! :-)

Lonnit-i'm all for ps'ing a photograph if your intention is to phart. this entry matches the title perfectly. i feel like i'm looking at a tornado. however, i think i'd like it better if the blue window glow in the circle was not there. what do you think?

Love it, Lonnit! The "nails" sign is clearly seen and the PS enhancement makes an artful image. I think the trick is to use PS in a way that is not quite so evident....but, I personally, like the effect. Shu

I didn't understand a bleeding word you said. In focus, out of focus, layers, duplicate, blending. Wot is going on?
