Mixed Nuts

My Living Room - NJ

When your real poor, you can only serve this kind of nut.

Ironically, this bowl was gotten at a garage sale for about a quarter. I got it, just for photographic use, as it looks like a fancy bowl. This background however, is new to me, it's a little busy and fights with the crystal a little, but overall it's still pretty nice. I added a soft blur to knock down the high spots that I didn't like.

The other spin on this one, is that I'm so rich, that I hold hardware in a crystal dish.

Canon PowerShot Pro90 IS
1/20s f/6.3 at 36.8mm (35mm equivalent: 426mm) with Flash full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

i think what would have made it stand out better is if i chose a better cloth. i like the cloth, but it's the first time using it. i like it as a backdrop, and it will now stay a backdrop. i should have used almost anything else, a doily would have been nice, thinking about it now. i'm just glad i got to use that dish for something.

Another good idea, but the background is a little too busy. f6.3? Perhaps a larger aperture would help to defocus the background, make the subject stand out better?

man, tom, your freakin fast, i just uploaded that 3 seconds ago! i'll assume you didn't read the statement due to the speed. that explains why it's here. whether it fit's or not, i'm not sure yet. until i think of something better. in this case it's a fancy dish, and all they can afford - is metal nuts? do better.
