Shu, it's your photo so it has to make you happy first :-) If you think it's too dark then lighten it back up.

OK.....here goes.....????? I think it's too dark now. The more I fuss with this, the more I seem to lose my perspective....!!!!! (I'm just learning, I'm just learning, I'm just learning...........(sigh) sweat etc.......) LOL Thanks Thimble, anyhow....Shu

Hi Shu. I think you did a swell job with the editing. As always technics can be improved so don't worry too much. I think since you're the one doing the editing you can be more judgmental than the rest of us who are just looking at the photo. I think Rod's suggestion is a very good one, some Levels would really bring out the heart shape even more.

Shu, why don't you just dump the shot............only kidding mate:-) The heart shape is excellent I would emphasise it more by using levels or curves to darken the whole shot & let the foreground go quite dark. This may also make the sky & trees in the distance look better. Well seen Shu.

Shu, for some reason, the heart shape now seems less obvious (altho it looks fine in the thumbnail). Maybe the image needs darkening...or increased contrast...or greater color saturation?

Techo--I did it! Inspect and tell me what you think (I think it's a piece of ----, but that's the best I can do with the tools I have-- Photoshop Elements 2.0)Thanks, Shu

Shu, this is nice. I like it. I'm still trying to find the perfect filter adapter for my cam. Here is my try at getting that blue sky in your photo,

Since the sky is really white, using selective color or the saturation dialog will do nothing. What you can try is, using the magic wand selection tool. Select the biggest of the portion of the sky first, if you're using Photoshop, contract the selection by one or two pixels. Now select the paintbrush, choose the color you want, and set the opacity(10% or so) and click the airbrush icon(I think that's what it's called), select a big brush size so it covers the selection, and click once to paint the sky. Now you can unselect the main area, and select all those little areas of the sky that are visible through the leaves, and paint them with a tiny brush size. That's it. I also used the clone tool to get rid of the pixelations near the edges of the leaves. But since you have a larger version, you may not need to do that. Good luck!

Better M.A.? (I only wish it had a blue sky, but don't know how to add color....??) Thanks, Shu

Shu, the heart-shaped opening is eye-catching. I would crop off the lighter grass and leaves at the bottom and get rid of the pale celery-colored border/frame.
