Hi Phil. I agree with photonut. If I may suggest an alternative location for the shot, perhaps put the popped kernel in a bowl of unpopped kernels, that way you could also crop differently. Maybe you can even try a half half ratio of popped to unpopped kernels?

Good idea and on topic. However, I feel the corn and popped corn would show up better if there was more contrast, say on a black background.
