Sunset Discovery*

Palo Alto Baylands, California

I was at the Baylands in search of birds in flight for the CSLR Challenge. When it got too dark to shoot, I took a walk on a trail that I had never been on before and discovered this. I had no tripod or wide angle lens, but I had to shoot it.

Garrett,
don't get me wrong - 1.5 degree is a LOT for any digital picture - that would be extremely obvious. I am talking about fractions of a degree, I tried -0.4 and -0.5 degree with your picture, and both version look a bit better (to my eye, very subjective) than your version. I know that I am more sensitive to this issue than many others. I think Lonnit talked recently about "Tilt disease", but I don't know whether he reads this.

Thanks for your comment. I just tried rotating it 1.5 degrees counter-clockwise, but that looks tilted to the left. I think the camera actually was level for this shot. It's the curvature of the bank that makes it look tilted. --Garrett

Beautiful colours - I like the contrast of the green and the pink reflection of the sky. To my eyes, the pic leans a bit to the right - rotating counterclockwise a fraction of a degree might be an idea.
