Paul, thanks for your compliments and excellent suggestion. Cropping off the top made the sky less distracting. Yes, I used a 1.4x TC. At first, I was disappointed that I didn't have time to remove the TC in order to get both egrets in full, but then I realized that the tighter framing drew attention to the kick. --Garrett

Garrett, I love your avian photography and this is excellent. Great timing, sharpness and selective DOF. I would perhaps crop a little from the top to tighten the composition. Sweet lens, looks like you used a 1.4x TC?
