Papaya Trek (*)

My backyard

To boldly go where no other papaya...

I have this papaya plant in my backyard and today it was its turn to pose. No papayas were harmed in the production of this picture, but I might hurt one tomorrow :)

Canon PowerShot G3
5s f/2.0 at 7.0mm iso50. Levels, Curves, Unsharp mask, and cut tool to delete a wall that wasn't behaving. full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

I like the angle of the tree, the lighting is just right, and its great you have some stars, a few more would be even better. Neil

Very nice, I like the way you caught the tree and the starry sky both.

Hmm, I'll try that when I get home tonight...

Very nice photo, Nugar... good composition and you're lucky to have a papaya tree so close at hand. You might find that it's even more striking if you set a black point on one of the dark grays in the sky, somewhere in the lower left quadrant. Cheers, Don.

Thanks both for your comments.

Pops: Actually, Orion was up there, but I think it would be about two hours or so before it got into the scene. I would have loved to have it on board! (But was to lazy to wait, heehee)

Jim: I used a tripod for this shot, aperture f/2.0 for 5 seconds. Had to take several shots because it was windy. For the post-process, I tweaked a bit the levels, moving the right slider towards the left. After that, curves to bring the colors out a bit more. Unsharp mask 200,0.7,0. I think that's about it.

Very nice capture. I really like the overall composition of this. Could you post the technical parameters for the curious?
Thanks.
