Two Cities (*)

El Terraplén, Panama

This picture was taken at about 7:30am, and I'm fond of it because it portrays two of the different cities that co-exist in Panama. It was taken from the market area, where fishermen gather and has a backdrop of the Paitilla area skyline.

It also shows something that I've noticed while taking pictures here, that even at that early hour the colors are cool down here in the tropics.

Thanks Jordan! There's a story behind the picture too... The picture is taken from my car. I was going to a family meeting and decided to stop at this area to take the image. At that time of the morning there were quite a few drunkards/bums/homeless getting up from their night sleep. Now, my car's front was towards the right of the picture so I had turned myself to the left to take the picture. But one of the drunkards was convinced that I was taking his picture. My wife was keeping an eye on him and when he finally came with a hammer we fled the site, LOL. The risks of picture taking!

Great picture. Mourning colours are superbly soft.
This one reminds me the Challenge #14 Poverty & Opulence. I always adore pictures that shows the coexistance and contrast between 2 different worlds, curtures, etc.
