Do not scare the birds you are going to shoot (*)

I thought this proverb from Madagascar was pretty apt since I was shooting birds. ;)

This is great - unusual posture the birds have, just like they have just taken off?? I have been using ISO 800 for hand-held shots in poor light with the same lens, but not happy with the noise, ISO 400 much better.

Great shot. I like the reflection. I would crop it a little from the right and bottom, but that's just me.

btw. How do you like Sigma 70-300 lens? I'm considering entering DSLR class, but i'm on a tight budget so i can't afford expensive lens. Could you posibly send a crop of a full size (6mp) image (a duck maybe) the Marko.Potocnik NO@SPAM g-kabel.si (remove NO SPAM )so i can see how the lens perform. Thanks,
