A Picture is Worth A Thousand Words * 3rd Place

Philadelphia, PA

This ancient Chinese proverb has been twised slightly to its commonly used english form. The literal translation of the original proverb is "A Picture is Worth Ten Thousand Words". Another common form is "A Picture Paints a Thousand Words".

Thanks for the comments guys. I do not use the B&W mode the camera offers. I simply convert to grayscale in photoshop, do the usual adjustments, and sometimes play with the channel mixing. This gives the same effect as placing color filters in front of B&W film.

Well balanced indeed. I like the b&w treatment. Is it straight out of the camera or how do you go about converting to b&w?

I have to agree with Gayle, and I like the overall picture also. ;-) Nice lighting and balance.
