Plugged In (*)

My favorite thing about the challenges is learning new techniques. This is my first attempt at adding color back to a B&W image. [In PS6, image cropped, rotated and desaturated. Small amount of film grain added. Color added back to the LEDs using the history brush.]

I've updated the photo to remove the grain and I cloned out the bit of the label on the left. I've tried to darken up the LEDs a bit since they are a bit over exposed.

Hi Will - (*) The grain doesn't work too well for me on this one. The noise is at odds with the clean plastic surface of the socket. IMHO of course.

Congratulations. A very nice shot. I like what you did with the bit of color. I might have cropped just a bit more or cloned out that hint of something on the left. But overall very nice.

I shot this with the power cord going down. However, I found that my original had a slight tilt so I tried to rotate it so that it was straight.

Did you shoot this with the power cord going up instead of down?
