Lawn Care by Jeremy *

This is a little lot at the entrance to my neighborhood. Usually the grass is overgrown more than this, but this time of year the grass isn't growing much. I think the guy quit, and forgot to take his sign, because the lot isn't maintained anymore.

Your should get a shot of our lawn. It is spring here, and we have grass every-where.

I don't think I'm going to get a chance to reshoot before the challenge ends. :( Weather has been kinda nasty and it doesn't look like it's going to get better.

Thanks, I did not know that. I'm always open to critiquing. Is that written somewhere and I just missed it, or is it an unwritten thing?

Jim, the "*" you see in some titles mean that the photographer would like viewers to critique the image, not just leave comments.

What does a * next to the title mean? I shot the picture from a car. Those bushes pretty much surround the sign, I don't know if I can get at a different angle and still see the sign, the leaves, and the overgrown grass.

OOOPs sorry Jim - I just realised no * next to the title. Can you forgive me?

I like the idea but have to agree with Paul. The overexposure of the sky due to the contrast in lighting detracts from what you are really saying with this pic. Have you tried different angles? I would be inclined to take a pic from ground level that shows the leaves and grass leading up to the sign. Ok I admit it would look a little strange you lying on the ground taking pics of something others look on as inane - but that is photography for you.

JIm, funny bit of commentary and use of juxtaposition. I like your idea, but the bright sunlight pulls my eye away from the sign, which should be the center of attention. Perhaps moving around to the right, and zoom in a bit? The dead leaves would be in the foreground with the sign in back.
