Hmmm, the reason. 1 - To do it differently from the usual family portrait. 2 - Parts in the title, parts shown instead of everything. 3 - I love negative space and I just can't help myself sometimes.

Not sure if I get the reason for cropping the faces and leaving so much white spaces above the heads.

Where's the hate ? Only kidding..you can't put hate in this picture too although that would be challenging I guess. Nice composition, nice idea, nice technically. Errr...Nice. You love your family and that comes across in the picture and story.
