Scenic Vacations

This is Lake Moraine close to Banff, Canada. Isn't this a beautiful place? Now that I have discovered digital photography, I just love scenic vacations. With working, chores, etc. there is never enough time for picture taking. However, with a week off for vacation and these amazing surroundings, I had plenty of time to snap away.

Oh I really want to be there now! This is the kind of place that a medium format camera setup is worth every penny. Maybe the colours could have a bit more life in them, hmmm not sure, there's just a certain sparkle missing, BUT: the composition is absolutely superb. The size of the mountains, the low clouds, the line of trees leading the viewer into the distance, and the foreground interest of the dead wood on the shore. It's got all the right elements to make a very very good picture.
