I should probably change the background, but to what ?

Still too far away, but the cap 'cap's it and adds a frame within the frame.

Still suffers from the uniform monochromatic issue the first one did - shirt and background very similar tones.

You look like you have more of a enigmatic smile there, thinking about golf ?

Maybe a better version of this would have you out at a golf course, with clubs
blurred by depth of field, to your right (picture's left)

Or a better portrait would be catching you mid swing ? Or taken from the perspective
of the cup, with you bending over to pick up a ball, putter in hand ?

This shot works better. Another way to have taken this shot with the same background would have been to have used a darker cap and shirt. This would frame your face. Also reposition the shot so that there is more space to the left, this will exaggerate that whistful look. Again crop about an inch off the top. If you want another background, try a slightly out of focus and/or desaturated winter park scene (either with bare trees or snow covered trees).
