Only with the best cameras and lens do you get to exactly compose your picture. With anything less, it will be a fact of life if you care to have your picture express what you mean. However, the closer you get with the lens and camera, the better it will be exposed and hurdling that before post processing makes life simple with almost no alterations.

Penny- never feel guilty about a crop. Once you realize your cropping, you will realize to move in, move out, etc. It is a learning process that may never end!! But through our realistic views of our images, we eventually lead ourselves to a balanced art. :) With that said, obviously your eye was right on target here with the lighting and topic. Well done! jano

You shouldn't feel guilty at all as it's a lot easier when sitting at the computer nice & calm to see what maybe should have been done in camera. Time & wanting to learn is the secret but quite a few just use a scatter gun approach with the camera as digital is cheap & pick out on the computer what may make a picy. If that's what they enjoy doing so be it but there's nothing like the satisfaction of composing a scene in camera & it turns out as seen. You know it's a girly thing:-)

tv and Doug, thanks for the comments.
Rod, unfortunately I feel a little guilty about the crop and skew but someday I'll learn to get it right in the camera too.

I think it's obvious this isn't mine, this is so well done compared to my rubbish, I would be well pleased if it was mine. This looks so terrific on me Hi res monitor that I hope you can see it as well as it looks down here. The bottom white gutter looks great with the catch light & darker graduations leading up to the in sun triangles. Unbelievably good & Tom must be really proud of his little lady that can take such a manly picy, I know I am. Excellent framing & seeing, well done megirl.

You're on the right track because I just knew this had to be Rod's. -Doug

Silly, nobody can compete with Rod when it comes to b/w geometry but I'm hoping I've learned a thing or two. Penny Street

Nicely balanced negative space works wonders as a foil to dramatically intense angles and light. It has an almost Rod-like visual impression. Look out Rod.. Penny is a competitor. -tv
