Visually striking contrast. If the slanted light bars had illuminated a face or something of bright color it would be a WOW. Since these challenges are so easy for you, I suggest that in NYC your new assignment will be to get pictures of people that don't have their cell phones out ... such a common blight on our modern society and probably a challenge to achieve unless you cropped tightly.

Thanks Jano you got it right - lots of reflected light in the canyons of lower Manhattan. Thanks Doug but credit goes to Rod who made me redo it. -tv

What is wonderful with this shot is the reflections on the buildings on the right. Can I assumethe sun was up high to cast light off one building to another? If so, excellent for the topic. Love the gold. jano

I actualy find this light combination pleasing. The text messenger being in shadow helps bring back some balance. -Doug

I like this crop as it puts more emphasis on the great lighting on the buildings. This picy is a tough one with the direct harsher lighting on the main street & the really nice reflected light up the narrow street.

Thanks Rod. No the light effects were lost looking directly down the street. Just a dark canyon is left. I know tjhis picy lacks focus but the light looks good on my monitor. -tv

The light in the narrow street looks great but it tends to get a diminished by the well lit foreground for this topic. Was there a picy looking up the narrow street, say if you stood somewhere around where the motorbike is?
