Thanks you Two:-) I will have to check that lens out. It seems we mainly only hear about the 100mm & 60mm. With the crop factor the 50mm might just do the job, & for less money too which is important for me now.

Yes, I have the 50mm 2.5 macro and I like it. It's really small, light in weight and (if you trust me to say it) takes nice sharp pictures. Penny Street

Nice marquee shot for your new lens Rod. I like you conversion job here too as usual. So if you still are thinking about a macro lens have you considered the Canon 50mm f2.5 macro? I looked at one in a shop once and liked that it was light and would be easy to carry around in a kit (would consider it as a replacement for my 50mm 1.4). I know it doesn't have quite the magnification of the 60 or 100 macros, but it is light, relatively cheap, and some people say it's great for portraits too. Think maybe I saw that Penny shot with it once or twice?

I have 100mm Macro. Excellent lenses, but I can not say that I mastery them well. We need a macro challenge ... What about auto focus - you really don't need it.

I found a good used 60mm macro for US$209 so you don't need to save much. If you had a Nikon, you could buy a used manual focus (who needs auto focus in a macro?) top quality 55mm macro for $159 or less. -tv

Thanks Konstantin:-) I think the only other lens I might have a want for is the 60mm macro lens but I hope we don't have a macro challenge until I get me retirement money in about 6 weeks time:-)
No I didn't put a small wheel on the bike I just used the "make smaller" command in Photoshop. Don't tell anyone:-)

Rod,
this is veeeery good ! Please tell us what lenses you still miss ? Macro ? Long tele ? I think the next host must announce a challenge which will need them !
Konstantin

PS. Is it only me who got the real secret of this picture ? Rod just replaced the wheel with the smaller one from the kid-bike !

Just ahrtiiiiiistic licence Debi. The bike is perfectly normal except for wot the 10mm did to it. Thanks Debi darling:-)

Thanks Penny Anonymous, Dougy, & Tommy:-) It's funny I bought my other two lenses from where I bought the 10-22 but he never asked me if I wanted UV filters. Yet when I picked up the 10-22 he asked me if I wanted a UV filter, I said no as I don't use anything in front of me lenses. After going around the garden getting some picys I can now see the wisdom in a UV filter on this lens as you can get so close to something that it can touch the front of the lens.

This angle makes the bike seem all bent into wierd contortions. "Novelty", yes. -tv

Agree. Just what you needed is another weapon in your arsenal to assault us with. -Doug

Love it! What a great perspective this lens gives you and the composition and bw are really well done too! Penny Street
