Thanks you Two:-) I will have to check that lens out. It seems we mainly only hear about the 100mm & 60mm. With the crop factor the 50mm might just do the job, & for less money too which is important for me now.

Yes, I have the 50mm 2.5 macro and I like it. It's really small, light in weight and (if you trust me to say it) takes nice sharp pictures. Penny Street

Nice marquee shot for your new lens Rod. I like you conversion job here too as usual. So if you still are thinking about a macro lens have you considered the Canon 50mm f2.5 macro? I looked at one in a shop once and liked that it was light and would be easy to carry around in a kit (would consider it as a replacement for my 50mm 1.4). I know it doesn't have quite the magnification of the 60 or 100 macros, but it is light, relatively cheap, and some people say it's great for portraits too. Think maybe I saw that Penny shot with it once or twice?

I have 100mm Macro. Excellent lenses, but I can not say that I mastery them well. We need a macro challenge ... What about auto focus - you really don't need it.

I found a good used 60mm macro for US$209 so you don't need to save much. If you had a Nikon, you could buy a used manual focus (who needs auto focus in a macro?) top quality 55mm macro for $159 or less. -tv

Thanks Konstantin:-) I think the only other lens I might have a want for is the 60mm macro lens but I hope we don't have a macro challenge until I get me retirement money in about 6 weeks time:-)
No I didn't put a small wheel on the bike I just used the "make smaller" command in Photoshop. Don't tell anyone:-)

this is veeeery good ! Please tell us what lenses you still miss ? Macro ? Long tele ? I think the next host must announce a challenge which will need them !

Thanks Penny Anonymous, Dougy, & Tommy:-) It's funny I bought my other two lenses from where I bought the 10-22 but he never asked me if I wanted UV filters. Yet when I picked up the 10-22 he asked me if I wanted a UV filter, I said no as I don't use anything in front of me lenses. After going around the garden getting some picys I can now see the wisdom in a UV filter on this lens as you can get so close to something that it can touch the front of the lens.
