Thanks, Mary Anne. Thought about that, but if I did the top the lower part will be messed up, so thought of keeping it as is.

Nice one, Aam. I esp. like the lacy green trees outside the windows. One nit-pick...the line of the ceiling at the top edge is not quite straight. Maybe you could skew it a bit to level the top of the image. Good eye here.

I didn't know he was Irish. :)

His name is Gilbert O'Sullivan, an Irishman. Cheers, YB.

Got me so confused I forgot to say - great image, particularly like the three windows.

I'm so sorry I looked at this photo, well not the photo so much, but the title. The words of the song are bouncing around my brain, driving me mad trying to think of the name of the singer. There it goes again!

:)

Thanks Penny (sorry I forgot to thank you earlier) Debi, Rod, Konstantin, Tom, and Doug. Rod, I really like your crop so I have to give it a serious thought. Konstantin, I think the title is having this effect on the photo, if the title was, say, Red chairs people will look at the photo differently.

Thank you very much ladies and gentlemen.

Good one Aam. It's nice to see a image with an underlying meaning, one that tells a story, or reads like a book. One that is worth a thousand words if you will. -Doug

Good one Aam and title too. I agree some cropping could help but I myself like the beam pointing at the girl so my preference would be to run it from the corner: i.e. just a slight crop from the right. -tv

This is an interesting picture. It can cause a controversial discussion if it is on topic or not. It can be on topic in an “opposite” challenge “Solo”. So “many” chairs - but all these are just background for the “solo” girl, who, basically, makes the whole picture. For me personally it is on topic here - based on topic description, but it would be better in “Solo” challenge.
I agree with Rod that the wall beam is slightly disturbing but I’m not sure that his cropped version in Pending is better - it is missing space.

Irrelevant all the above - I think this is a VERY good picture. I really love it.
Konstantin

PS. Some pictures in this challenge - including my - are not really “many” but “few”.

I did a crop & put it in Pending, I had to take the roof out to keep aspect the same but if it's done from a high res image the crop can be anything one wants.
I'm in two minds as I really like the look of the crop but this original has some space.

This is a super pic - Debi

Thank you VERY much, mate. Really appreciate what you said. Will get back to you on your suggestion, as I have to see it with my eyes first :)

Magnificent picy mate, one of your best I reckon. I agree with you about the title as it's our eyes that determine the content not the title. A title can tell viewers where to look in a picy that's not quite working for the topic but anyone that doesn't see many chairs, especially bleeding red ones is a nutter a:-)
The trees & sky through the openings have a surreal look which enhances the overall feel. The only small adjustment I would make for a 100% perfect surreal picy is to crop just to the left of wall beam which adds to the flatness of the background & also cuts the right hand bottom chair off much the same as the left one. This would put the girl closer to the edge but I would have to see it to know if that works.
Excellent work Aamm I think you can be part of our clique now:-)

This has almost a surreal look to it... Penny Street

Cheers, Bro. I intentionally used this title, for two reasons. One, the chairs are obviously many, so no need to mention them (imo). Two, and this is Tom's territory (hi Tom)...it reminds me of a technique Martin Scorsese uses in his films; whereby a serious event is taking place yet the camera movement and the music are focusing on something else, usually unrelated to what's going on.

Does that make sense :)

Nicely captured image Aam. In any other instance I think the title suggesting "alone" would be great for this image. Given the topic I would think a title that calls more attention to the many empty chairs might be helpful.
So many views so quickly after posting, maybe this is linked to a Facebook page or something?
