Thanks for the comments all, it seems like months ago already that I captured this image- but I had fun :-)

The scream is obviously a result of the frustration of getting a picture on topic. You can relax now, it is. -Doug

Very brave, really nice setup and execution. I think you should leave it.
At first I didn't comment because I wasn't sure if it was motion blur but, with all your explanation and then thinking about it myself.... this is a great effort and should be applauded, especially by those who appreciate the original work.

Brent,
this is the point ".. it may appear otherwise the blur was 100% focus blur as I was holding my pose and the focus was set to infinity ..."
We don't know how you set up and shot the photo - we only see the result and "... it may appear ... ".

See below the point 5 and don't remove it ... unless you shot an another brilliant oof photo.

I didn't laugh:-)

I like it Brent. I can only imagine how difficult it was to capture yourself. Well done!

Thanks for the comments all, but with such a mixed review I'm not sure it will stay here. I will point out that though it may appear otherwise the blur was 100% focus blur as I was holding my pose and the focus was set to infinity. I did get some shots with more of me showing (sorry Rod fully clothed as it is winter here) but then I had to be so far from the lens that I wasn't blurred much. Also, without the benefit of a full length mirror it was VERY hard to get any pose right with nobody there to direct. If this at least got some laughs that's good enough for me- this topic is a real challenge :-)

Brent,
it made me laugh! Great idea and wonderful picture. What I am not so sure is:
1. The picture itself has a very deep dof, so the oof figure in a foreground looks a bit artificial.
2. The figure's oof is rather because of moving blur.
3. It is on topic while topic description allows anything oof.
4. I would better see it in a “The move/Moving blur” challenge
5. I love it - great idea and its technical realization, colors, leading lines, interesting background - a lot of details making the picture so interesting.

Yes full frontal wiv no clothes on just as Mr Munch intended:-)
ctfchallenge15-Feb-2009 06:57
There's just enough detailed cacophony to play off the oof Munch-like expression. Just for some added parody, a full frontal pose seems more appropriate. -tv

Thanks Carole, if it made you laugh that was the goal :-) Grumpy today are we Rod? Of course it's daft- just like the painting yet people like it. Mine is just a contemporary version and on topic too- I think?

The pose doesn't go with the surroundings for me & looks a bit daft. You will be relieved to hear that it's on topic:-)..................................I think.

This is great Brent and very funny! We can't help but stare at that gaping mouth and you even have a railing in there and the water, just like the original. Edvard Munch would be proud! :-D CJ
