Thanks, CJ, I wish I had the time to rethink and/or reshoot this one but I don't! Hey, Rod - I am coming to Oz one of these days and look forward to having a CTF get together with you then! ~Sharon

I must confess Sharon that I had no idea what was opposite here until you mentioned that the pointy thing was a tree! Too bad we can't see the detail in these tiny pictures. :-( Great textures in the rocks - this must be huge! CJ

Yes me I'm just across the way in Brisbane:-)

Thank you, Mary Anne, Lydia, Doug and Tommy! Hey, Doug, I didn't know that you live in the Colorado Springs area. I met Mikey last year when I was out here visiting. I will be here again in January, maybe we should try to arrange a CTF get together for then? I know JimH in the CSLR challenge is also in this area. Anyone else near by? I would love to meet you all! ~Sharon

This is an impossible shot when the detail is so crucial and has to be lost in a downsized version. Nice try. -tv

I see you found time to enjoy my neck of the woods. -COAmature

Wow~ That's massive~ ~Lydia

I like the concept, Sharon. Maybe some vignetting would help draw the eye to that tree? You're right, though--the impact of some scenes simply cannot be captured by the camera. You just have to be there.

You must be fastidious to bother measuring the tree:-)

Thanks, Y, Penny, aam & Rod! The little pointy thing at the bottom is a 12 foot high evergreen tree. It did occur to me that people would have trouble with scale but I couldn't figure out how to do it in the time I had. ~Sharon
Rod 07-Nov-2008 19:12
I think there's a bird bottom left that gives it scale, it just doesn't stand out enough maybe. Then again insignificant isn't supposed to stand out a:-)

Good point, YB. Love the earthy colors here.

Very nicely seen, Sharon. And the color is amazing. Penny Street

Nice abstract image - but I think it needs something to give it scale.
